CONTRASTの舞台は1920年代をイメージさせる、幻想的な夢の様な世界。
プレイヤーは、家庭に問題を抱えた少女ディディの空想上の友だちダーンとなり、影の世界に入る能力使って、ディディの冒険の手助けをしていきます。
ゲームは、現実（3D）と影（2D）の世界を行き来する本格的なアクションパートと、光源を使って道を作り出していく手応え抜群のパズルパートを繰り返すことで展開していきます。
